In 2011, the Newark Carer Support Group was formed. A group primarily focusing on individuals who have found themselves caring and supporting their parents, teenagers, young-middle aged adults, siblings and close friends affected by mental health issues, as well as emotional and behavioural difficulties.
Our meetings are held every third Tuesday in the month. They are friendly and informal sessions and can be attended as often or as little as you feel appropriate. We aim to invite guest speakers every month, ranging from Benefit Specialists to Pharmacists so that they can pass on valuable up-to-date information to assist in our Caring role.
We meet at Newark MIND’s offices at 56 London Road, Newark (click for map)
From 1.00pm to 2.30pm.
We hope that in some small way, locally, we can bring awareness of Mental Health issues to the fore, stamp out deep-seated stigmas and support as many Carers as we can.
